Gloria is a kaftan with shape and style.
A silk kaftan is considered a luxurious wardrobe staple that can be an outfit solution for a variety of occasions. Our Gloria has been tweaked and shaped such that it really can go anywhere.
Fundamentally the improvements made are to give her a flattering A-Line cut, a curved high-low hemline and a long sleeve. We have also shortened the garment length, which provides more layering opportunities which when done right provides more flattering options. Kaftans can famously be considered unflattering tent-like outfits… Not so for our Gloria.
She can be paired with a maxi length Bamboo or Madison slip, which instantly becomes part of the dress and is a flowing and elegant more formal occasion outfit. Likewise, a knee-length slip will make it slightly more casual as do ¾ Silk Pants.
The side splits in the hemline create a really interesting layer as the pointed side panels drape over their backdrop layer, and tying off one side creates a fabulous diagonal hemline.
The trick to layering is to keep the underlayers the same colour top and bottom and fitted without being tight. It will keep you slimmer and taller, with a flattering sheer silk top layer as it simply smudges the underlayer.
