Holi – the popular ancient Hindu festival in India is also known as the “festival of colours” and the “festival of Love” – which is how we feel about our “shisha” print when we combine it with panels of an abstract stripe print in the same gorgeous, bright colours – which is why it quickly renamed itself as “Holy Moly” – which was an exclamation of surprise or astonishment that emanated from Captain Marvel in the DC Comics of the 40’s.
This cacophony of colour will make you and your friends exclaim “holi moli” as you wear this palette of every colour.
This bright happy palette works in harmony with a neutral colour like stone or camel which lets this print be the “hero”.
Shisha – is an exotic celebration of colour -named “Shisha” – Not for the exotic Persian apparatus – but for the Indian embroidery art of stitching mini mirrors or reflective materials into the fabric.
The digital print has every tone of bright happy pinks, reds and orange balanced by black and stone neutrals. The print is busy and colourful making a very happy statement piece and really only needs a neutral stone or camel to show it off. So pair it with a camel jacket or accessories or for an evening event, layer it with a black to make it more formal.
Our Shisha print is a digital or photo print of an actual embroidery, allowing us to all share this beautiful craftwork.
Sexy, cheeky and fun – all the way through to stylish, demure, and sophisticated is the versatility of this little wrap dress. The cute factor as a summer frock with a pair of flat sandals or sneakers is a given; But the surprising versatility when paired with long silk pants will surprise all. Our model created this combo and it was a winner – so for those that don’t love their legs – this is a solution.
The flared sleeve is great arm cover without being hot to wear, the curved hem on the wrap panel creates that vertical that we all know is flattering – along with the extended ties. The gentle high low hemline means you can bend over without any loss of dignity – enjoy this very limited edition.
There is incredible attention to detail in this design. From the teardrop back yoke, to gathered detail on the back that creates a little bit of extra movement around the bum; the ¾ sleeve length with a generous 10cm cuff provides the wearer the option to turn back and have an alternative sleeve length; gently curved hemline which is slightly longer at the back and finished with a generous self-facing hem. It’s a loose cut fit, however all the detail gives it shape so you are not in a tent! There is a high quality finish that is rarely seen these days.
